If a child is found in violation of curfew, minor misdemeanor citations are issued to the parents.
Students must not be on the streets on school days between 10 am and 2 pm. There are exceptions for early dismissal, alternative schools, and working students. In those cases, the student must have either a pass or ID indicating the alternate school and/or working hours.
At age 12, students must be off the street by dark, ages 13 and 14 must be off the street by 9:30 pm, ages 15 to 16 must be off the street by 11 pm and students age 17 must be off the street by midnight.

Call your local police station and ask for the Commander’s Office or the Vice Unit. Or call 3-1-1. You do not have to leave your name and number.
Please have as much information as possible including the address, time/day of most activity and where they make transactions (side door, alley, etc.). If there is a crime in progress, report it to 911.

Go to the Division of Police Records File Section, on the 3 rd floor of 1300 Ontario St, Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 8am and. 3:30pm. You will need the person’s complete name, social security number, and date of birth. The criminal records check will list all of their felony and misdemeanor arrests. The cost is five cents per copy

Yes- the Auxiliary Police program is a tremendous opportunity. In this program, trained unarmed auxiliary officers volunteer a minimum of 15 hours per month patrolling, assisting at special events and crime fairs, and working to improve the quality of life in our city’s neighborhoods. The victim should report the crime to police. The officer will provide a report number which the victim can then take to the city prosecutor’s office. The city prosecutor will determine if charges can be filed. The prosecutor is located in the Justice Center, 1200 Ontario Street, Cleveland, Ohio on the 8th floor.

You must complete these steps:
- pass a written exam, physical agility test, and drug screening
- undergo background, psychological and medical evaluations
- If selected, you begin intensive training lasting 26 weeks, during which you must maintain a grade of 70% or higher
