Congratulations - your home or small business is newly eligible for the City of Cleveland’s Community Choice Electric Aggregation (CCA) program. This program bundles eligible accounts to provide hassle-free, competitive, fixed supply rates.
What Does This Mean For You?
- SOPEC provides electric aggregation services for Cleveland customers with The Illuminating Company. AEP Energy (SOPEC’s supplier) will be the electricity supply provider for your home or small business.
- You will continue to receive one bill from The Illuminating Company.
- The current aggregation program rate is $0.09236 per kWh (through July 2026). This rate is a fixed-term supply rate that offers savings over The Illuminating Company’s current Price to Compare of $0.0950 per kWh (through March 31, 2026).
What Happens Next?
- If your enrollment is accepted, you will receive a confirmation letter from The Illuminating Company. Review the letter. If you are satisfied, you do not need to do anything else.
- Your new supply rate will begin in one to two billing cycles, depending on your meter read date.
In the first two years of the program, Cleveland residents and small businesses saved an estimated $20 million compared to the utility default rate!
