All City of Cleveland residents and homeowners who live in a single-family household or a multi-family building up to four (4) units, serviced by the City of Cleveland Division of Waste are eligible to participate in the curbside recycling program.

Recycling Tips
- Place all items loose and unbagged in the cart.
- Do not look for symbol and number on items.
- Refer to City's list of acceptable materials.
- Empty all containers before placing them in recycling. Food scraps do not go in the blue recycling cart.
NOT for Recycling
- Household Items: plastic bags, bed sheets, hangers, pots, pans, scrap metal
- Hazardous Items: batteries, needles, syringes, electronics
- Bulky Items: buckets, car parts, garden hoses, metal chains, toys
- Non-Recyclable Materials: food scraps, yard waste, polystyrene foam, light bulbs, drinking glasses, cassette tapes, ceramics

I don’t receive curbside service. Where can I take my recyclables?
There are currently two drop-off locations for residential recycling:
East Side
5600 Carnegie Avenue
(Monday-Friday, 9 am-3 pm)
West Side
3727 Ridge Road
(Monday-Friday, 9 am-3 pm)
How do I replace a damaged cart?

Don’t Trash the Recycling!
If you toss something that isn’t empty into the recycling bin, it can mess up a whole truckload. Even a half-full bottle or container can spill and ruin everything else inside. Not everything belongs in the bin so try reducing and reusing first.
The less waste you make, the less you have to worry about where it goes!
Remember! When in doubt, throw it out.
