Biography
Philip Small was born in Washington, D.C. He came to Cleveland in 1904 and attended Adelbert College of Western Reserve University from 1909 to 1912 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1915. He lived in Cleveland Heights and Hunting Valley. He was the Hunting Valley building commissioner and member of the board of zoning appeals. He served as a member of the Western Reserve University board of trustees and board of supervising architects. He was a member of the Union, Country, and Hermit Clubs and was a fellow in the American Institute of Architects. The firm of Small and Rowley specialized in traditional colonial and English revival architecture. He resided at 2898 Kingsley in Shaker Heights, with an office in the Terminal Tower. He was listed as a registered architect in the November 1940 Ohio Architect. He lived at 1298 Westover Road in Cleveland Heights. He died at the Cleveland Clinic and is buried in Lake View Cemetery.

Biography
Louis Skolnik was born in Minsk, Russia of Jewish parentage, according to the World War I draft registration form, where his occupation was listed as carpenter. According to the 1930 census, he immigrated to the United States in 1908 and Yiddish was spoken in the home. In 1928, a Plain Dealer article noted his office was room 210 Auditorium Garage Building. He was a registered architect listed in the November 1940 Ohio Architect. He designed several apartment buildings and houses.

Skeel, Albert (architect)
Biography
Albert Skeel was born in Bristol, England and immigrated to the United States in 1883. Early in his career he worked as a carpenter contractor. He worked as a draftsman for three years in architectural offices in Cleveland. He worked in the office of Frank S. Barnum from 1898 to 1902, working on plans for the Euclid Avenue Presbyterian Church. He lived in the Glen Valley area of Brecksville, where he designed many of the houses. Glen Valley was noted as an ideal country setting near the picturesque cliffs of Chippewa Creek. He was responsible for the complete restoration of Brecksville Congregational Church. He died in Brecksville in 1937 and is buried there.

Biography
Harlen Shimmin was born in Cleveland, attending public schools and Business College. He began working as a mechanical engineer completing mechanical drawings. He later shifted to architecture. As early as 1892 he worked in the office of Charles W. Hopkinson and in 1904 went into business for himself. The largest part of his work was in residential design, examples of which are found in the Wade Park Allotment, Edgewater, Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, and East Cleveland. He was a member of the Colonial Club, the Cleveland Athletic Club, a Mason of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Al Koran Temple. Several of his designs were featured in the February 1913 Ohio Architect, Engineer, and Builder. He was listed as a registered architect in the November 1940 Ohio Architect.
