Walker, Lyman R. (architect)
Biography
Lyman Walker was born in Zanesville, Ohio and moved to Covington, Kentucky at age ten. He went to work in the office of Cincinnati architect Samuel Hannaford where he worked for three years. In 1900 he entered government employment as assistant supervising architect of the military occupation of Cuba. He returned to the United States in 1902 and went to work in Omaha, returning to Covington in 1904. He attended the University of Cincinnati, Carnegie Tech, and Michigan State College. He worked in Florida, then Detroit and Cincinnati. During World War I he served as a combat pilot. He served as a lieutenant colonel and was attached to the Officers Reserve Corps. He moved to Cleveland in 1921. He wrote numerous articles for trade publications. He specialized in the design of apartment buildings.

Walker, Frederick (architect)
Biography
Joined D.C. Griese to form the D.C. Griese and Walker Company in 1903. they were general contractors (primarily masonry) that did some of their own design. Contractors for the East Technical High School, Collinwood Memorial High School, Peerless Motor Car Company Plant and others. This firm dissolved in 1914 and Walker worked in the Engineering Department for the National Screw and Tack Company until his death.

Walker, Frank (architect)
Biography
Frank Walker was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also studied in Paris and Italy. He worked in the office of Guy Lowell in Boston, later working in New York City and Pittsburgh, before moving to Cleveland in 1905. In Cleveland he worked for architect J. Milton Dyer. In 1911 Walker and Harry E. Weeks formed the architectural firm of Walker & Weeks.

Walker & Weeks (firm)
Biography
Walker and Weeks was established in 1911. The firm designed the Cleveland Public Library and Cleveland Board of Education in the Cleveland Group Plan of Public Buildings. They were also the architects of the Federal Reserve Bank and Severance Hall. The firm designed many bank buildings in Cleveland and throughout the region. In the 1920's they had a staff that numbered sixty. Frank Walker died in 1949, however the firm continued in business until 1953. Howard Horn and Frank Rhinehart operated the successor firm which became known as Horn & Reinhart in 1953.

Corwin A. Waite was living in Akron in 1920 and in Warren in 1930. His design for the house at 11115 Edgewater Drive was featured in the April 14, 1929 Plain Dealer. He died in Collier County, Florida in 1983.

Vogel, Frederick (architect)
Biography
Frederick Herbert Vogel, born in Allendorf, Germany, was listed as a carpenter in the 1890 City Directory, as an architect in the 1892 and 1894 City Directories, and as a carpenter in the 1895 directory. He later identified himself as a builder, when he was responsible for many churches and schools. He moved to 4881 Tiedemann Road in Brooklyn, where he served on the Board of Education for forty years and as a councilman for two years.

Vande Velde, Bernard (architect)
Biography
Bernard Vande Velde was the son of Dutch-born parents. He was raised on China Street, later moving to Pearl Road, and then to 2713 Woodbridge Street, on the west side. In 1880 he was a draftsman with the firm of Heard and Smith and by 1885 was listed as an architect in Cleveland City Directories. In 1885 he had a short-lived partnership with Vincent Wyss, who later practiced in Lancaster, Ohio. Vande Velde was the architect of several significant ecclesiastical buildings for the Roman Catholic diocese in the last decade of the 19th century and the first decade of the 20th century. Notably, he designed the Gothic Revival style Our Lady of Lourdes Church, St. Wenceslas Church, and St. Philemon Church. He never married and was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. He died of cancer on October 24, 1920.

Uthe, Charles (architect)
Biography
Charles Uthe was born in North Amherst, Ohio and was educated in Cleveland Public Schools. He began work as an architect in 1898 at the National Electric Lamp Company. He worked for Granger & Meade for five years, Meade & Garfield for four years, two years for W. R. Watterson, and with contractor J. A. Reaugh & Son. In 1916 he became supervising engineer with William Sly & Company. Later he was employed with the Northern Blower Company. In 1935 he was appointed construction engineer at the Parsons Engineering Company. Later in life he was associated with I. T. Frary, staff member of the Cleveland Museum of Art. He supervised the drawing and sketches of old homes and monuments throughout Ohio. He was a member of the Cleveland Architectural Club, a member of First Congregational Church, and a Republican. He resided at 1252 East 80th Street. He died in 1948 at St. Vincent Charity Hospital and is buried in Youngstown.

Uhlrich, Emile (architect)
Biography
Emile Uhlrich was born in Epinal, France. He was educated at the Ecole Fenelon, the Lycee St. Nicholas, and the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He came to the United States in 1891 at the age of eighteen. He was active as an architect in Cleveland from 1898 to 1923. In 1900 he was a lodger in the Charles Stanley Residence, 2150 East 22nd Street. He was naturalized on January 23, 1900. Initally he was a partner with Godfrey Fugman from 1899 to 1903 and then formed a short-lived partnership with Harry Cone in 1905. He left Cleveland after 1923. He would later live in the Hotel Maryland in New York City. He died in France and is buried in Cemetery of Villefranche near the Mediterranean.

Biography
Bloodgood Tuttle was born in Chicago and was educated at the University of Chicago. He began his practice in Detroit and moved to Cleveland in 1920. He was retained by the Van Sweringen Brothers to build two groups of demonstration homes in Shaker Heights, one group of five on Van Aken near Southington Road and another group of four on Van Aken west of Parkland Drive. He lived at 1944 East 75th Street. He died in Mt. Sinai Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.
