Biography
Steffens & Searles were in business in the last decade of the 19th century. They designed commercial, residential, and apartment buildings. The firm made a specialty of apartment buildings and French flat buildings. An April 23, 1896 Plain Dealer article states that the firm designed the first "French flat building" in the city.

Biography
Charles R. Stedman was a Connecticut-born architect and building contractor. Before coming to Cleveland he was in the contracting business in Minneapolis. He was listed as an architect in Cleveland City Directories from 1903 until 1916. He had offices in the Superior Building and later in the Schofield Building.

Stapf, Otto (architect)
Biography
Otto K. Stapf was born in Pittsburgh. He was active as a Cleveland architect from 1905 to 1917. He designed residential and commercial buildings. A number of his houses were built in Lakewood. An article on his works appeared in the June 1912 edition of the "Ohio Architect, Engineer and Builder." The article noted that he was one of the pioneers in the use of reinforced concrete. It also featured several photographs of houses that he designed in Craftsman and Colonial Revival styles. In 1910 he lived at 1931 Northland in Lakewood and in 1920 at 1663 Northland in Lakewood. He moved to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1924 where he died in 1962.

Stanley, Edgar (architect)
Biography
Edgar A. Stanley was born in Ashtabula County, Ohio and graduated from the University of Illinois. He initially worked in Cleveland and resided on West 105th Street. While in Cleveland he worked for Albert Skeel and Frank Barnum. He moved to Youngstown in 1911, where he formed a partnership with Morris W. Scheibel, with whom he continued to practice until the mid-1920s. In 1930 he moved to Winter Park, Florida.

Stanley-Brown, Rudolph (architect)
Biography
Rudolph Stanley-Brown was a grandson of President James A. Garfield. He was born in Mentor, Ohio, later moving with his parents to New York City. He first studied at Yale University and later studied architecture at Columbia University. He moved to Cleveland in 1920 and began to work with his uncle, Abram Garfield. He was a partner in the firm of Garfield, Stanley-Brown, Harris & Robinson from 1930-1934. He moved to Washington, D.C in 1936.

Sprackling, Adolphus (architect)
Biography
Adolphus Sprackling was a Captain in the Cleveland Grays. From 1893 to 1897 he was a partner in the firm of Matzinger and Sprackling and later went into business for himself. His office was at 5713 Euclid Avenue. He was murdered over an argument about how to cut salami in his apartment at 7619 Lexington Avenue.

Spence, Mary (architect)
Biography
Mary Spence was a Wisconsin-born architect. She was one of the earliest female architects in Cleveland. 1930 Census shows her residing at 1620-1710 Prospect Avenue as a boarder. She does not appear in the city directories after 1934.
