MPIO Expanded Programs
The Mayor’s Office of Prevention, Intervention and Opportunity (MPIO) is partnering with community organizations to offer expanded summer programming across Cleveland. These programs provide opportunities for youth to explore arts, sports, STEM, leadership, wellness, career exposure, and other enrichment activities in safe and supportive environments.
Families can browse available expanded programs and get connected to opportunities based on their child’s interests, age, location, and schedule.
Recreation Programming and Summer Camps
Many Track 3 programs take place at Neighborhood Resource and Recreation Centers across the city, making it easy for families to access opportunities close to home. Families can explore City of Cleveland Recreation Center day camps, Camp Forbes overnight camps, and additional recreation programs available through CivicRec.
Recreation Center day camps are free, 8-week programs focused on STEM exploration, creativity, arts, social-emotional development, teamwork, and fun. Camps run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at E.J. Kovacic NRRC, Frederick Douglass NRRC, Michael Zone NRRC, and Estabrook NRRC. Space may be limited, and families can join the waitlist to be considered as spots become available.
Camp Forbes offers an overnight outdoor camp experience with meals, snacks, swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, sports, arts and crafts, kayaking, campfires, team-building activities, and more.
