The Innovations team uses Lean methodology and change management tools to strategically solve challenges within city departments to elevate Cleveland’s communities.

ElevateCLE Innovation Accelerator

 

The City implemented a process improvement program, including facilitation and training, creating a more efficient and customer-focused organization that delivers greater value to residents. This program is ElevateCLE.

The mission is to build meaningful KPIs and dashboards, turn process challenges into solutions, and empower all staff with process improvement tools through professional development.

We help departments collect new data or improve current data collection processes.

We use the performance management methodology Results-Based Accountability (RBA). It is a data-driven decision-making process to help communities and organizations get beyond talking about problems to taking action to solve problems. It starts with what we want to accomplish and works backward, towards how we will accomplish it.

We help City departments improve specific processes or develop a brand-new processes. A process improvement bootcamp results in a current and/or future state process maps, an action plan and Urban AI support to implement change.

We use Lean tools to clearly define the problem. Then, we dive into solutions and techniques to create a clear, actionable plan for improvement.

Lean is a method of process improvement used to make processes more efficient by reducing waste and increasing value to the customer.

We offer continuing professional development to City of Cleveland staff. Our training sessions are conducted by Urban AI staff and designed for any level, teaching practical tools and strategies to help make work more efficient, effective, and impactful.

Our current courses include:

Defining the Problem learn the basics of process mapping, identifying waste and Lean gap analysis tools

Getting to Action learn how to identify and prioritize solutions to problems, and develop an action plan to execute solutions

Measuring What Matters learn the basics of Results-Based Accountability, our framework for developing meaningful KPIs
