The City of Cleveland announced traffic information, including parking restrictions, as large crowds are expected for the events. This is subject to change based on real-time information as vehicular and pedestrian traffic evolves. All closure times depend on traffic volume and can be adjusted as needed by the Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Traffic. All decisions are made with public safety at top of mind. As always, exercise caution, and if you see something, please say something. For emergencies, call 911. The Cleveland Police non-emergency number is (216) 621-1234.
Parking Restrictions
Parking restrictions will be in effect from 4 p.m. through midnight on Friday, May 23rd and Monday, May 25th.
Always check nearby poles, posts, and parking meters for signage outlining parking restrictions, as these may change based on traffic conditions. Vehicles found in violation of these restrictions will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense. Towed vehicles can be retrieved from the City of Cleveland’s Impound Unit at 3040 Quigley Road.
The following streets will have no-parking restrictions in place:
- East 9th Street: Euclid Avenue to Bolivar Road
- East 4th Street: From Huron Road to Prospect Avenue
- East 2nd Street: From High Street to Prospect Avenue
- Prospect Avenue: From Ontario Street to East 14th Street
- Bolivar Road: From East 7th Street to Prospect Avenue
- Huron Road: From East 9th Street to Ontario Street
- Sumner Avenue: From East 9th Street to East 14th Street
- Erie Court: From East 9th Street to East 14th Street
Special Event Parking Zones
Downtown Special Events Zones will be in effect for the Cavaliers and Guardians games this weekend. On-street parking will be $8/hour in these zones and are only temporary in nature – as they will start two hours before events and remain in effect through the conclusion of the event or until 10pm, whichever comes first.
These zones only include a limited number of streets and are significantly cheaper than event rates at privately-owned parking lots/garages in the city. The updated rates will be reflected on ParkMobile, and users can pay in the app, online, or by phone via text/call. For those wishing to pay with cash, pay stations are also available throughout the area. Please look for nearby signage directing you to the closest pay station to where you parked.
Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead prior to arriving downtown for a better, easier parking experience. The Special Event Parking Map, along with additional street parking information, can be found on the City’s website at clevelandohio.gov/streetparking.
Gateway Reconfiguration Update
The City has a quick update on the timing and schedule for the reconfiguration work along Prospect Avenue and Huron Road. This reconfiguration was based on feedback from nearby businesses, residents, and other stakeholders and focuses on making the Prospect and Huron corridors safer, clearer, and more predictable during events. The project has been divided into two phases:
Phase One focused on Huron Road, and the work was already completed in advance of this weekend’s sporting events. Phase Two is underway on Prospect Avenue, with reconfiguration work anticipated to be completed next week and not expected to adversely impact event traffic throughout the district.
Please note that all work remains weather dependent. The work is strategically being planned around the upcoming events to minimize traffic impact, creating a better experience for fans, concertgoers, and downtown visitors.
Flats East Bank Rideshare Zones
The City of Cleveland, in partnership with business stakeholders, has designed rideshare pickup zones in the Flats East Bank to improve safety, support traffic flow, and create a better experience for all visitors. Zones will be active seasonally on Friday and Saturday nights from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Visitors are encouraged to look for signage on Old River Road and West 10th Street designating these zones.
