Middle Neighborhoods

The Middle Neighborhoods work in Cleveland, Ohio, focuses attention and resources on neighborhoods often described as “on the edge.” These communities are neither severely disinvested nor fully thriving, and many residents experience a gradual decline in their homes, streets, neighborhoods, and local businesses. We are committed to stabilizing these areas by strengthening partnerships, advocating for resources, and supporting efforts that prevent decline and promote long-term neighborhood vitality.

Middle neighborhoods include:

  • Lee-Harvard
  • North Collinwood
  • Old Brooklyn
  • West Park

Mission Statement

To uplift Cleveland’s Middle Neighborhoods by advocating for support, strengthening partnerships, and helping connect communities to tangible resources and opportunities. These neighborhoods often sit “on the edge” — either facing gradual decline or moving toward stability and growth. This work seeks to ensure that consistent attention, collaboration, and investment help move these communities toward a healthy and thriving future.
