Indoor Chore Services Flyer
This program provides free home maintenance for moderate to low income Clevelanders 60 years of age and older and adults with disabilities. It helps residents live independent lifestyles while improving and maintaining the City's appearance.
Chore workers are City employees who provide services including indoor and outdoor home maintenance tasks such as: general house cleaning, installation of smoke detectors, lawn mowing, leaf raking, and snow shoveling.
Enrollment for outdoor services is conducted annually in early spring. It is recommended that residents call prior to February 1st to request an application.
Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP)
The Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) provides energy efficiency grants to income-eligible homeowners and tenants. The grants pay State of Ohio approved contractors for providing energy efficiency services for income-eligible residents' homes, which lowers energy bills. The Home Weatherization Assistance Program is administered by Cleveland Housing Network.
Interested residents may contact the Cleveland Housing Network at 216.574.7100 for information or to apply for the program. Annually, the Department of Aging accepts applications for a no-cost Senior Lawn Cutting Program. The program runs to October.

This program provides Cleveland seniors and disabled adults home repair assistance to avoid housing violations citations and predatory lenders or scam contractors. This is a cooperative effort between the City’s Departments of Aging, Building and Housing, Community Development, Consumer Affairs, Public Health and Law.

SHAP provides grants to Cleveland residents age 60+ or disabled adults who meet income eligibility guidelines and own single or two family homes in need of critical, health, safety and maintenance repairs. Applicants must live in the property in question and be able to show clear title. Proof of address (mortgage, insurance, utility bill, etc.), photo ID, and proof of income are required.

The Cleveland Department of Aging in partnership with the Department of Public Works and the Department of Community Development has a program to help seniors and adults with disabilities with limited incomes with hazardous tree and branch removal on their personal property. Applicants must be Cleveland residents who meet income eligibility guidelines and own and reside in their home. Proof of income is required.

Bed Bug Program Application
Seniors and adults with disabilities who are Cleveland residents can receive help from the Department of Aging for the extermination of bed bugs in their homes. Income guidelines must be met.
Age-Friendly Home Investment Program
The Cleveland Department of Aging has a program to help seniors age 60 years and older and adults with disabilities address one home maintenance or home repair need. The program will also assist with referrals to other home repair programs.
