September 3, 2026 — CLEVELAND — The City of Cleveland is gearing up for a busy Labor Day Weekend, with a lineup of events offering plenty of opportunities for everyone to enjoy all that Cleveland has to offer.  

To help residents and visitors stay up-to-date and enjoy a safe holiday weekend, the Cleveland Department of Public Safety encourages residents and visitors to sign up for Rave, the City’s official emergency notification system.

Rave is designed to keep residents informed during emergencies, special events, and important community updates. To receive event updates and safety alerts throughout this Labor Day Weekend, participants should text CLELaborDay to 77295 to enroll.  

Labor Day Parade

On Monday, September 7, Mayor Bibb and Cleveland community leaders will gather to celebrate Labor Day with a community parade honoring the contributions and achievements of workers throughout our region.

The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. at East 147th Street and Kinsman Road and continue west on Kinsman Road to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The parade will conclude at Luke Easter Park, 3090 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Motorists should expect temporary road closures, traffic delays, and restricted access along the parade route.

Cleveland National Airshow

The Cleveland National Air Show will take place September 5-7. The Blue Angels will be flying throughout Downtown Cleveland and the region throughout the weekend.

Motorists should expect intermittent closures and traffic restrictions at East 55th Street, North Marginal Road, East 9th Street, and Lakeside Avenue, as well as the areas of Voinovich Park, North Coast Yard, and Edgewater Park.

The following road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect:

• East 9th Street: From Euclid Avenue to Carnegie Avenue  
• Huron Avenue: From Ontario Street to Prospect Avenue  
• Prospect Avenue: From East 9th Street to Ontario Street  
• East 4th Street: From Huron Avenue to Prospect Avenue  

North Coast Yard

Free and open to the public, North Coast Yard offers a chance to experience Cleveland’s vibrant waterfront with local food vendors, open space to relax, and plenty of room to take in the lakefront views and the energy of the city.

If you are looking to grab a bite with your family, meet up with friends, enjoy the outdoors, or simply find a place to unwind, come experience North Coast Yard.
 

Cleveland Guardians

Baseball will be a major part of Labor Day Weekend in Downtown Cleveland, with the Cleveland Guardians hosting games at Progressive Field throughout the holiday weekend. Fans can catch Major League Baseball action while enjoying the energy and excitement of downtown Cleveland on the following dates and times:

• Thursday, September 3: 1:10 p.m.
• Friday, September 4: 2:10 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
• Saturday, September 5: 6:10 p.m.
• Sunday, September 6: 1:40 p.m.

Large crowds are expected throughout the weekend, and as such, the following road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect:

• East 9th Street: From Euclid Avenue to Bolivar Road
• East 4th Street: From Huron Road to Prospect Avenue
• East 2nd Street: From High Street to Prospect Avenue
• Prospect Avenue: From Ontario Street to East 14th Street
• Bolivar Road: From East 7th Street to Prospect Avenue
• Huron Road: From East 9th Street to Ontario Street
• Sumner Avenue: From East 9th Street to East 14th Street
• Erie Court: From East 9th Street to East 14th Street

Hingetown Jazz Fest

The Hingetown Jazz Festival returns to Cleveland’s vibrant Hingetown neighborhood on Saturday of Labor Day Weekend for a day of live music, community, and celebration. The annual festival showcases talented jazz musicians and brings neighbors and visitors together to enjoy the sounds of jazz in one of Cleveland’s most dynamic neighborhoods. The Hingetown Jazz Festival is free and open to the public.

The Cleveland Division of Police Bureau of Traffic may adjust road closures and parking restrictions as needed, based on real-time traffic and pedestrian conditions, to ensure public safety.

Residents, visitors, and commuters are encouraged to allow extra travel time, follow directions from traffic controllers and law enforcement, and consider alternate routes when traveling through Downtown and the lakefront area throughout the weekend. As always, it is best practice to check nearby poles, posts, and meters to look for signage outlining restrictions.
