Complaint Filing Timeline
We encourage community members to report possible police misconduct as soon as possible. Under the applicable Cleveland Division of Police collective bargaining agreement, disciplinary action generally requires that a complaint be received within six months of the incident. Complaints submitted after six months may still be accepted and reviewed, but the timing may limit the disciplinary action that can be taken.
