Gun Violence Awareness - It was a day of awareness, support and action. Children and community leaders came together at the MetroHealth campus to mark gun violence awareness day. 6. Black Family Cancer Awareness - Learn more about the Black Family Cancer Awareness in Cleveland Event that is happening on Saturday, June 13, at the Warren E. Anderson Midtown Collaboration Center. The free block party runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and focuses on addressing cancer disparities, health prevention, and family history education. 7. Horror Hotel Film Festival - Horror movie fans in Cleveland have the chance to experience some thrills at the fifteenth annual horror hotel film festival. TV20’s Cornell Calhoun III sat down with festival organizers Johnny Wu and Tina Hobbs to learn what to expect this year. 8. Guardians Cleat Giveaway - More than 300 youth with the city of Cleveland division of recreation softball and baseball program received cleats – donated by the Cleveland Guardians. 9. Beyond the Books - It’s a citywide campaign with the Cleveland public library - that celebrates people, neighborhoods, and stories of Cleveland. It’s called “One Cleveland” and includes “The Cleveland 230” - a recognition of people whose work, leadership, and impact reflect our city. The library will be unveiling new members of “The Cleveland 230” - starting with broadcast journalist, Leon Bibb. |
