Immunization Services

Immunizations help the body build protection against dangerous disease. By vaccinating, we not only protect ourselves but also our loved ones. Immunizations protect children, seniors, and those at risk from serious diseases. CDPH offers free vaccines for children from birth to age 18 and low-cost immunizations for adults.

Childhood Vaccines

• CDPH participates in the Vaccines for Children Program that provides vaccines at no cost to eligible children ages 18 and younger. Children who are enrolled in Medicaid or are uninsured may qualify. Other eligibility categories may also apply. 
• Routine childhood vaccinations help protect children from serious diseases. Parents and guardians are encouraged to keep their children's immunizations up to date according to the recommended vaccination schedule. 
• Catch-up vaccinations may be available for children who have fallen behind.

Influenza (Flu) Vaccines

• Annual influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone 6 months of age and older, with rare exceptions. Flu vaccination helps reduce the risk of influenza and its potentially serious complications.
