City of Cleveland and North Union Farmers Market Launch New Downtown Market at Mall B
Six-week pilot will expand access to fresh, locally grown food while bringing weekly programming to downtown Cleveland
AUGUST 6, 2026 - CLEVELAND - North Union Farmers Market, in partnership with the City of Cleveland, will launch a new weekly farmers market at Mall B in downtown Cleveland beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
North Union Farmers Market at City of Cleveland: At Mall B in the CLE will take place every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through October 6. The six-week pilot market will expand access to fresh, locally grown food in downtown Cleveland while creating a welcoming weekly destination for residents, employees, visitors, and families.
The market will feature local farmers, food producers, and small businesses, including fresh food grown within the City of Cleveland through Food Sovereignty Cleveland and its network of urban farms.
“This market is about bringing fresh food directly into the heart of the city and creating another convenient way for Cleveland residents, downtown employees, and visitors to connect with local farmers and food producers,” said Harriette Watford Lowenthal, Board President.
In addition to fresh produce and locally made food, the market will feature rotating activities throughout the six-week season, including:
- Live music
- Chef demonstrations
- Community resources and activities
The Downtown Cleveland Farmers Market will accept WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits, Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits, and the Family Fruit & Vegetable Coupon Program, helping more shoppers access fresh, locally grown food.
“We are excited to partner with North Union Farmers Market to bring fresh, locally grown food and engaging community programming to the heart of downtown Cleveland. This pilot will create a vibrant gathering place for residents, employees, and visitors while supporting local farmers and expanding access to healthy food in our city. We hope to grow this 6-week pilot into a longer-running market in 2027,” said Matt Cole, Director of Human Resources at the City of Cleveland.
