City of Cleveland Activates Extended NRRC Operations in Response to Air Quality Alert
CLEVELAND — July 16, 2026 — The City of Cleveland Department of Parks and Recreation is extending operations at several Neighborhood Resource and Recreation Centers (NRRCs) to provide safe, accessible spaces for residents during this period of poor air quality conditions. These extended hours will help ensure Cleveland residents have access to cooling, community resources, and a place to seek relief from potentially dangerous environmental conditions.

Additional Information:
- Breakfast meals are available from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. at Zelma George NRRC, Lonnie Burten NRRC, Halloran NRRC, Glenville NRRC, Frederick Douglass NRRC, Estabrook NRRC, Michael Zone NRRC, and Kovacic NRRC.
All recreation centers will serve lunch meals to youth 18 and under from 12:00 – 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. - Please contact your local NRRC for the serving times.
Playground programs and youth outdoor sports are cancelled.
Outdoor pools will be closed. However, available indoor pools will be open from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m.
