Shaker Boulevard Rehabilitation Project (Woodhill Road to the Shaker Heights border) - Design Open House Meeting - Wards 3 & 6
The purpose of this public event is to provide information and an opportunity to discuss design features and plans for the upcoming project on Shaker Boulevard.
Please stop by anytime between 5-7pm to participate in the event’s activity stations.
Timeline:
- Design completion: Winter 2026
- Construction begins: Spring/Summer 2027
- Construction complete: Summer 2028
Project Need: We're making changes to Stokes Boulevard to address traffic safety concerns, improve the condition of the roadway, and strengthen connections in our growing citywide bike network.
Proposed Changes:
- Complete asphalt resurfacing
- Upgrade non-compliant curb ramps to meet accessibility standards
- Replace curbs, sidewalks, and driveway aprons as needed
- Slow traffic speeds using traffic calming tools
- Explore adding pedestrian safety enhancements
- Investigate adding a new bikeway connection
