Rev. Dr. Lisa Maxine Goods is the Senior Pastor of The Historic Shiloh Baptist Church, Cleveland’s oldest Black Baptist Church. She is the first female pastor in the church’s 175-year history. For over 18 years she has served congregations in Chicago and Cleveland. She has also served as Chaplain Resident at ChristianaCare Hospital in Newark, DE. She currently serves as Affiliate Associate Professor of Homiletics at Fuller Theological Seminary. She holds a Bachelor of Finance from Penn State University, a Master of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary, a Doctor of Ministry from Chicago Theological Seminary, and is currently a PhD candidate in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric at Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, IN. Her research centers around trauma-informed womanist preaching. A native of Pittsburgh, PA and longtime resident of Chicago, IL, Rev. Goods has been active in Cleveland since her arrival in 2020. She serves on the board of The Centers, the Cleveland Baptist Association, and Greater Cleveland Congregations where she also chairs their Battle for Democracy and is a sought after speaker both nationally and locally. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Goods is a mother, daughter, activist, educator, pastor, womanist theologian, and justice-seeker.
