How to Navigate the City of Cleveland’s Hiring Process

The "How to Navigate the City of Cleveland’s Hiring Process” workshop was designed to help the public learn how to navigate the City’s hiring process and gain insight into the steps involved in becoming employed. Hundreds of attendees were provided with free resource handouts and instructions to assist with navigating the City’s hiring process. This informational session was held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium on Lakeside Avenue.


This department provides City employees with services regarding wage and salary administration, benefits, safety and rehabilitation, labor relations, education and research, affirmative action, and health.

It posts open positions and coordinates the hiring of new employees in partnership with the Civil Service Commission.

Internship Opportunities

City Internships are offered in the Spring and Summer of every academic year. In exchange for a commitment of time and professional effort, interns are rewarded with experiences that enhance their potential to compete locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. Eligibility and Application

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university at the time of application
  • The City encourages all majors to apply
