Joey Davis
Mayor Frank G. Jackson congratulated Joey Davis, the undefeated wrestling champion and community servant, on his many accomplishments and presented him, with a certificate of recognition. In addition, Mayor Jackson also thanked him for his contributions to the Cleveland community and wished him continued service and success.
Mr. Davis, a student at Notre Dame College, as he is recognized for his undefeated wresting career and his tireless dedication to the community. Mr. Davis, born and raised in Compton, California, focused his energy on wrestling; and, as a result, he is a history making athlete - the first NCAA D-II wrestler to win 4 titles with an undefeated record of 131-0. He has shown a strong civic responsibility and commitment to community by giving back to others through wrestling and mentoring clinics in the Greater Cleveland community. Mr. Davis was accompanied Bill Splete, Assistant Coach at Mentor High School
