Commander James P. McPike

Mayor Frank G. Jackson was joined by the Councilman Matt Zone (Ward 15),  Director of Public Safety Michael McGrath, Chief of Police Calvin Williams and other public safety members to administer the oath of office to Captain James P. McPike. Mayor Jackson swore Captain McPike to the City of Cleveland Public Safety’s Division of Police as the newest Commander for the Bureau of Special Investigations. In additional, family members and friends were also in attendance at Commander McPike’s swearing in ceremony. 

Mr. McPike was appointed to the Division of Police in October of 1995. Captain McPike was promoted to Sergeant of Police in 2008, promoted to Lieutenant in 2012 and promoted to Captain in June of 2015. 

He has served in the Bureau of Special Investigations for over 12 years, as a detective, sergeant, lieutenant and captain. Captain McPike earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cleveland State University and has received training from the Police Executive Leadership College and the FBI National Academy.
