Plumbing Permits

A plumbing permit is required for all code violations corrections and power-assisted sewer cleaning.

Permits are also necessary for new, extended, or repaired gas service, water service, plumbing systems and fixtures, and new or replaced water heaters.

Requirements

Plumbing, sewer, and gas piping systems may also require water permits from the Division of Water (1201 Lakeside Avenue, 2nd Floor, Permits and Sales, 216.664.2444 ext. 7513).

Water permits require separate applications, but plans are relayed by the Department of Building and Housing to the Division of Water to expedite the review process.
