Campus International School
Field trips take the book learning from the classroom and extend it to life lessons. Eighty third grade students from Campus International School (CIS) in Cleveland visited Cleveland City Hall and were welcomed by Mayor Frank G. Jackson, President of Global Cleveland Joe Cimperman, and Chief of Education Monyka Price. The students were accompanied by their teachers as part of their classroom discussion on city government. In addition, students enjoyed this learning opportunity with a tour of Cleveland City Hall, a photo opportunity and a question and answer session.
Campus International School opened in August 2010, as a partnership between the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) and Cleveland State University and is the only authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program in the CMSD. Campus International School prepares students for international citizenship with a rigorous and comprehensive IB, global curriculum that addresses the social, physical, emotional, cultural and academic needs of its students. Starting in kindergarten, CIS students take Mandarin as a second language. The mission of CIS is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, lifelong learners, who have the courage to act responsibly to make the world a better place.
