German Marshall Fellowship

Eight members of the European German Marshall Fellowship, accompanied by their representative and President of Global Cleveland Joe Cimperman, visited Cleveland City Hall and were welcomed by Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Chief of Government and International Affairs, Valarie McCall.

The German Marshall Fund of the United States focuses on strengthening transatlantic cooperation while enhancing leadership skills for its fellow participants. This year’s participants were from Ireland, Slovakia, Germany, Turkey, France and Denmark.

Founded in 1982, the Marshall Memorial Fellowship is the flagship leadership development program of the German Marshall Fund of the United States. It is an intensive learning and networking experience that begins with 6 months of preparations and ends with 24 days of immersion across the Atlantic. The program builds capacity for transatlantic understanding and cooperation, and fosters collaboration and innovation.
