Allegiant Air

Mayor Frank G. Jackson was joined by Lukas Johnson, Vice President of Planning of Allegiant Air to announce the launching of Allegiant Air’s new flight service out of the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) to 10 destinations. This event was held on Riverside Drive in Cleveland.

Founded in 1997, Allegiant Air is an ultra-low cost airline company and with this recent announcement will make CLE the third of three ultra-low cost carriers in the nation. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is home to Spirit and Frontier airlines and with the addition of Allegiant Air, CLE will become the only medium-sized airport which will have all three ultra-low cost carriers operating from one central location. In addition, with the new service that Allegiant will provide to various cities, Cleveland Hopkins will serve 48 airports from CLE and 49 counting Ultimate Air out of Burke Lakefront Airport to Cincinnati. Allegiant Air new service is anticipated to launch on February 15, 2017.

Over the years, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport has strengthened the economy locally, regionally and nationally and it continues to provide additional opportunities for growth.  This airport has built a reputation for excellence and remains a vital part of this region’s current and future economic growth. Allegiant Air’s collaborative partnership will contribute to providing Clevelanders, visitors and tourist additional opportunities for travel and foster job creation.
