Ordinance No. 1446-13
Cleveland City Council voted to approve the measure to make changes to its anti-discrimination ordinance number 1446 and on Friday, July 22, 2016, Mayor Frank G. Jackson signed into law ordinance number 1446-13, which would allow transgender citizens to use whatever restroom that conforms with their gender identity. This bill expands the city’s nondiscrimination law; thereby, amending Cleveland’s anti- Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) discrimination law to prohibit businesses from banning their employees and customers to use restrooms that are consistent with their gender identity.
