Turkmenistan Delegates Visit

Five delegates from Turkmenistan visited Cleveland City Hall and were welcomed by Mayor Frank G. Jackson for a meet and greet opportunity. Turkmenistan is a country in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan to the northwest, Uzbekistan to the north and east, Afghanistan to the southeast, Iran to the south and southwest, and the Caspian Sea to the west and largely covered by the Karakum Desert. It’s known for archaeological ruins including those at Nisa and Merv, major stops along the ancient trade route the Silk Road. Ashgabat is the capital.
