Mayor Jackson Swears-In Two Commissioner Level Positions
CLEVELAND – Today, Mayor Frank G. Jackson administered the Oath of Office to Jeffrey Brown as the new Commissioner of Motor Vehicle Maintenance for the Department of Public Works and to Alex Margevicius as the new Commissioner of Water for the Division of Water. Both Commissioners have previously served as the Interim Commissioner for their respective positions.
Jeffrey Brown was sworn-in today as the new Commissioner of Motor Vehicle Maintenance for the Department of Public Works. Commissioner Brown has been employed with the City of Cleveland for almost 20 years and most recently has served as Interim Commissioner of Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Assistant Commissioner of Motor Vehicle Maintenance.
Among his various charges, Commissioner Brown has been responsible for supervising and coordinating city fleet management activities, establishing and monitoring equipment replacement schedules, analyzing bids, developing specifications, establishing and enforcing vehicle operating policies and replacement schedules, maintaining equipment, vehicle, fuel, and hazardous material records and much more.
Commissioner Brown has over 30 years of motor vehicle maintenance experience and has attended Ohio Technical College where he obtained two Automotive Service Excellence certificates.
Alex Margevicius was sworn-in today as the new Commissioner of Water for the Cleveland Division of Water. Commissioner Margevicius began his tenure with the Cleveland Division of Water as a Civil Engineer in 1985 and was appointed as the Assistant Commissioner of Engineering for the Division in 1995 where he was responsible for coordinating all engineering and capital improvement projects.
Commissioner Margevicius has most recently served as the Interim Commissioner of Water for the Cleveland Division of Water where he helped the Division expand the Suburban Water Main Renewal Program, increasing the number of participating communities to 31 and the dollars awarded to $15 million per year.
Commissioner Margevicius is active in several professional organizations and he is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master’s of Science in Systems Engineering.
