City of Cleveland’s Winter Weather Plan – January 11 at 5:00 pm to January 12
Monday, January 11, 2016
CLEVELAND – The Department of Public Works currently has 21 snow removal crews servicing secondary streets through the evening up until midnight. At approximately midnight, the Department of Public Works will deploy 42 snow removal crews in anticipation of expected snowfall. These crews will service main and secondary-main thoroughfares until the snowfall has ceased. At that time, crews will refocus efforts on clearing secondary streets. The 42 crew deployment will continue throughout tomorrow. Currently, the city has 20,000 tons of salt available to treat roads.
The City of Cleveland encourages residents to:
- Please park off-street whenever possible. This allows plows to have curb-to-curb access and clear streets of snow more effectively.
- Stay off the streets as much as possible for their own personal safety and to allow snow plows greater access to the city’s roadways.
- If you must travel, use caution and remember not to “block the box” at intersections.
- Plan ahead for the morning commute and allow extra travel time.
- Pay attention to local news for weather advisories and visit http://www.city.cleveland.oh.us/ and clecityhall.com for additional information from the City of Cleveland.
