The 21st Century City

The City of Cleveland and Urban Land Institute Cleveland hosted the Building the 21st Century City: Best Practices in Zoning Conference held at the Global Center for Health Innovation at the Convention Center in Cleveland to discuss modernizing Cleveland’s zoning code. Mayor Frank G. Jackson gave brief remarks at the symposium, which explored the steps needed to change and update the city's auto-centric policies to policies that will address current development needs and promote a more sustainable future.

Guest speakers, business leaders, representatives, stakeholder and concerned residents came together in one centralized placed to discuss best practices for developing vital collaborative tools, networking resource systems and innovative strategies essential to improving the quality of life for neighborhoods and creating policies needed to ensure that thriving neighborhoods become healthy, walkable, equitable and sustainable communities across the Cleveland.
