Friday, January 23, 2015 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

CLEVELAND – On Friday, January 23, 2015, Mayor Frank G. Jackson and the Office of Sustainability invites you to help kick-off the “Year of Clean Water” in the Rotunda of City Hall from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event will feature information for homes and businesses, local innovations, resources, and organizations working to keep our water clean.

As part of Mayor Frank G. Jackson’s Sustainable Cleveland initiative, 2015 has been designated as the Year of Clean Water. Throughout the year, the Year of Clean Water Celebration Committee will be working to connect people to their water resources in order to restore, conserve, and protect this valuable asset.

“I am excited to host this kick-off for the Year of Clean Water in Cleveland,” said Chief of Sustainability, Jenita McGowan. “We will have more than 20 organizations at City Hall to help people understand how to take action at home, at work, and in their community around clean water. Water is such a valuable environmental and economic resource for our city and we look forward to making great progress in 2015.”

The Year of Clean Water Kick-off is the first event of the Clean Water Tour & Sweepstakes coordinated by the Cleveland Water Alliance. From January through October 2015, partner organizations will host fun, family-friendly, and educational events highlighting local efforts to keep our water drinkable, fishable, and swimmable. Attendees will have the chance to win the sweepstakes grand prize of a two-night stay in Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Stanford House, or one of many family fun prize packages.

The event is free, and no registration is necessary. Please note that a photo ID is required to enter City Hall.
