Derek Owens Park Dedication

On Nov. 9, 2019, the Cleveland Police Foundation and collaborative partners celebrated the dedication of the Derek Owens Park on Parkview Avenue. The park is named after fallen Cleveland Police Officer Derek Owens, who was killed in the line of duty in March 2008. Over 50 partners and donors contributed to the successful construction of the park, which is owned and maintained by theCleveland Police Foundation.
 
The program featured remarks from Captain Keith Sulzer, who spearheaded the project, Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Council President Kevin J. Kelley, Chief of Police Calvin D. Williams and more. Family and friends of Officer Derek Owens also shared heartfelt remarks.
