Hispanic Heritage Month Opening Ceremony

This year’s Hispanic Heritage Month Opening Ceremony took place on Sept. 13th at City Hall.The celebration featured cultural presentations of dance, music, and an awards presentation, including the Angel Guzman Lifetime Achievement Award honoring this year’s recipient Luis Gomez. The theme for this year’s ceremony was “Hispanics: United Hand in Hand.”
 
Attendees also heard remarks from Mayor Frank G. Jackson, Community Relations Director Grady Stevenson, Chief Tracy Martin-Thompson, City Council members and keynote speaker Dr. Akram Boutros from MetroHealth.
