Black History Month
The City of Cleveland’s Black History Month Committee held a showing of the original play Sugar Belle. The play was written and directed by Cornell Hubert Calhoun III, the Arts & Culture Coordinator for the Office of Mayor Frank G. Jackson.
It featured actors Tina Stump, Lewis Finney, Carla Macon, Joey Billups (Cleveland Detective), Joyce Linzy, Logan Dior Williams, Prophet D Seay, Ashley Aquilla and Merlena Castro. Original music for the play was written by Edward Ridley and Cornell Calhoun III. Dance choreography was by Reggie Kelly.
The play was held in the City Hall Rotunda and was free and open to the public.
