News Advisory: Mayor Jackson to Announce Safe Summer Initiative
Announcement will coincide with grand re-opening of Duggan Park and Beginning of 2016 Outdoor Pool Season
CLEVELAND – On Saturday, June 11, Mayor Frank G. Jackson and other city officials will announce the beginning of the 2016 Safe Summer initiative during the grand re-opening ceremony of Duggan Park. The Safe Summer initiative is collaboration across multiple city departments and divisions with the goal of encouraging Clevelanders, especially youth, to make safe and healthy choices this summer.
The announcement will coincide with the grand re-opening of Duggan Park after a 2.5 million dollar renovation and the official start of the 2016 city outdoor pool season. Mayor Jackson and other officials will be calling on Cleveland youth to take the “Safe Summer Pledge” in order to promote safety, health, and well-being among Cleveland youth this summer.
