Mayor Jackson to Announce Cleveland Hopkins International Airport’s $36 Million of Renovation Project Completion
CLEVELAND – On Monday, June 27, 2016, at 1 p.m., Mayor Frank G. Jackson and Interim Director Fred Szabo will announce the completion of the $26 million Terminal Façade Renovation Project and a $10 million parking canopy project to be held at the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) ribbon cutting ceremony.
These renovation projects, which started a year ago, include updates and improvements to the interior and exterior façades of both the ticketing and baggage claim levels and will enhance premium on-site parking for passengers.
Upgraded amenities include new and modern finishes, energy efficient lighting, revolving entry and exit doors and a higher ceiling with floor to ceiling windows for more natural light.
In recognition of the Airport’s original beginnings connecting to today’s modernized attractions, the ceremony will also include a presentation by the American Society of Civil Engineers who will award Cleveland Hopkins International Airport with a plaque honoring CLE as a historic engineering landmark. The new plaque will be on display at the event. In addition, the celebration will include a small program followed by cake and cookies for guests and passengers as well as other giveaways to celebrate with our passengers!
