Fire watches are temporary safety patrols for special circumstances. For example, if a hotel's fire alarm wasn't working, the Fire Prevention Bureau would approve a safety watch. Depending on conditions/occupancy, these are performed by firefighters or civilians.

Anytime gasoline spills you should call the Fire Department because it is very dangerous and flammable. If firefighters arrive and determine that the spill is not a hazard, we will instruct you in cleaning procedures.
