Division of Waste Collection and Disposal

This Division provides weekly collection of waste from 155,000 Cleveland homes, the West Side Market, Fire and Police Stations, the Justice Center, City Hall and other City buildings, and public areas.

It also places dumpsters at neighborhood events and community functions and plays an active role in special cleanup programs. Dumpsters are also available for commercial accounts and homeowners.

  • City of Cleveland to Collect Waste on Good Friday, April 7

    The City of Cleveland’s Division of Waste will continue its normally scheduled waste and recycling collection on Good Friday, April 7, 2023. Residents should set roll carts out as normal. All non-emergency City of Cleveland government offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday.

    The automated waste-collection program is significantly efficient and user-friendly, and allows items to be collected curbside.Through this program, residents receive sturdy carts for trash collection which can be wheeled to the curb. The program also allows Clevelanders to dispose of yard waste including grass clippings and branches.

Curbside Recycling Program Will Start the Week of June 13, 2022

To participate in the program residents must opt-in to receive curbside recycling services. Enrollment opens May 2, 2022. To enroll complete the online form at clerecycles.com or call 216.664.3030.

Commercial Services Now Available

The City of Cleveland now offers dumpster and commercial waste pick-up services to area organizations.
