In order to help provide superior customer service, Cleveland Hopkins Internation Airport implemented an Airport Ambassador Volunteer Program. The program allows volunteers — many of whom have had successful careers in a variety of fields — to provide information and assistance to travelers and their families, friends and business associates as they visit CLE. This program received the 2007 Outstanding Station Award from RSVP, which provides volunteer opportunities throughout Greater Cleveland.

The mission of Greater Cleveland Volunteers is to engage people to serve the community through meaningful volunteer opportunities. They connect people 18 years and over to volunteer opportunities throughout Cuyahoga County, based on one's interests, skills, and availability. Ongoing support is provided to volunteers to ensure rewarding experiences and to recognize community service. They host programs focusing on engaging older adults in service. RSVP engages adults, aged 55+, as volunteers for critical community needs such as: hunger, job preparedness, access to health care, housing and disaster services. The AARP Experience Corps program provides literacy tutors (aged 50+) to 1,000 K-3 students in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.

Courtwatch: Helping Victims and the Justice System

216.664.3294 or 216.664.3290 - Weekdays 8 am to 5 pm - 601 Lakeside Ave., Room 11

Courtwatch representatives are the “watchdogs" of the community because they help victims and neighbors monitor court cases while establishing a visible presence during trials. Courtwatch gives Clevelanders the opportunity to learn how the criminal justice system works, who the judges are, and what sentences are imposed.

Courtwatch recruits and trains community volunteers to attend hearings and trials. These volunteers report basic information and give impressions of the performances of judges and prosecutors.

Courtwatchers show victims that they have community support. By making a statement to criminals that crime will not be tolerated they also support police, prosecutors, and judges who apprehend and punish those that harm others.

Cleveland Animal Control Services Volunteer Opportunities

Friends of The Cleveland Kennel Website  -  216.274.9480 -  Send Email

Friends of the Cleveland Kennel are looking for people willing to volunteer with dogs and cats. Volunteers who work at the Division of Animal Control Services clean cages, and feed, bathe, and walk dogs. Opportunities are also available for those who can foster dogs and cats.  Foster homes offer a viable, temporary alternative for animals who have no place to go.  In addition, the group seeks donations of pet supplies including food, toys, collars and leashes, blankets and beds.
