Junior Golf Program

216.664.3016 Boys and Girls ages 9 to 17 can learn how to play golf at the local public courses. Participants sign up at their local recreation center. Transportation is provided from the centers to the public golf courses. There is no fee for this activity which is open to beginner and intermediate players.

The Division of Recreation develops, promotes and implements a wide variety of organized sports activities for residents of all ages.  Residents may register for leagues at any recreation center free of charge.  Organized sports activities include:

Parks and Playgrounds Locations

Cleveland's Department of Parks, Recreation and Properties manages over 150 parks, playgrounds, and green spaces. Twenty five playgrounds are staffed seasonally with Division of Recreation employees.  Instructors provide a variety of outdoor games and arts & crafts projects.

Some playgrounds have spray basins which are like giant water sprinklers. These are turned on in the summer when the temperature reaches 80 degrees. Other water features include pools, water slides and water playgrounds.

Dog park, cricket field, skatepark, bocce ball court and golf courses can also be found at various City-managed properties. In addition, there are several community and formal gardens, structures including shelters and gazebos, football and soccer fields and tennis courts.

Youth who participate in playground or recreation center activities are eligible for field trips to the zoo and other special events throughout the city free of charge, with parental permission.
