Cleveland Care Calls and CodeRED Program 216.664.6316 or 216.664.2833 - Weekdays 8 am to 5 pm Cleveland Care Call Flyer and Application This free automated telephone reassurance system calls on Cleveland Seniors. If a Senior does not respond, the Public Safety Department may be called to check on them. Care Calls uses City Watch, a program from Emergency Communications Network. Clevelanders who want to receive automated calls with notifications or tips during excessively hot or cold weather and in emergency situations may sign up for CodeRED notifications here. This is also a free service. |

The Cleveland Department of Aging and Cleveland EMS have partnered to bring File of Life to Cleveland seniors. File of Life is an emergency preparedness magnetic file that promotes safety and peace of mind. It is designed to be placed on the outside of a refrigerator. A File of Life includes important information about medical history, emergency contacts, and medications- all in one place, for use in an emergency. This information is invaluable to Emergency Medical Service professionals when seconds matter in an emergency. File of Life is available at no cost. This program provides free home maintenance for moderate to low income Clevelanders aged 60 and up. It helps residents live independent lifestyles while improving and maintaining the City's appearance.
Chore workers are City employees who provide services such as general and heavy house cleaning, lawn mowing, removing/installing storm windows, painting (limited), simple home repairs, and carpet cleaning. They will also install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and remove snow. Chore indoor services are primarily available from December to March.
Donations are accepted to support the program, and can be mailed to the attention of the Chore Program, at the Department of Aging. All money collected is used to provide services.

This home is for persons 60+ years of age, which provides a safe environment for those in crises or unsafe conditions. This is a collaborative project of the Cleveland Department of Aging, Fairhill Center, and the Cuyahoga County Department of Senior and Adult Services. Since its 2004 opening, adults have received temporary residential housing, including meals, and, in some instances, case management.

This is designed to increase knowledge and awareness among older persons in the areas of crime prevention, fire hazards, emergency services and programs for the elderly. It is a collaborative program presented by the Divisions of Police, EMS,and Fire; and the Departments of Aging and Consumer Affairs.
