Cleveland Police Officer Suspended

CLEVELAND - Director of Public Safety Michael McGrath and Cleveland Police Chief Calvin D. Williams announce that Patrol Officer Matthew Piter was arrested this morning by the Cleveland Division of Police on a charge of Rape.

Following arrest, Officer Piter was relieved from duty and will remain suspended without paypending the adjudication of the criminal charge. Officer Piter, 26 years old was hired by the Division of Police in September 2016. His most recent assignment was to the 2ndDistrict, Basic Patrol Section. View the suspension letter here:
