Vega Avenue Retaining Wall Project

CLEVELAND – On October 21, 2019, the City of Cleveland will begin the Vega Avenue Retaining Wall project, which is located between Fulton Road and Train Avenue.

The Vega Avenue Retaining Wall project will be administered by Mayor’s Office of Capital Projects. The work includes replacement of approximately 186 feet of retaining wall; removal and replacement of existing pedestrian railing, sidewalks & curbs; partial removal and replacement of existing asphalt pavement and slope stabilization.

Maintenance of Traffic will be as follows:

  • Vega Avenue will be closed 100 feet west of Fulton Road, and at Train Avenue
  • Eastbound or westbound Train Avenue traffic, wanting to travel east on Vega Avenue, will be detoured south on West 30th Street to Vega Avenue.
  • Northbound or southbound Fulton Road traffic, wanting to get to Train Avenue, will be detoured east on Vega Avenue and then north on West 30th Street to Train Avenue.

The work on this project will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of June 2020.
