Mayor Frank G. Jackson Sends his Condolences on the Passing of the Honorable Congressman Elijah E. Cummings

CLEVELAND – Mayor Frank G. Jackson sends his condolences to the friends and family of the Honorable Congressman Elijah E. Cummings:

“I want to express my condolences to the family and friends of lifelong public servant Congressman Elijah E. Cummings. Through 14 years of service in the Maryland House of Delegates and 12 terms representing Maryland’s 7th Congressional District, Congressman Cummings demonstrated an honorable commitment to the people of his district and this country,” said Mayor Frank G. Jackson.

“An advocate in the Civil Rights movement, Congressman Cummings brought determination, enthusiasm and compassion to Congress in his tireless efforts to support the civil rights of African Americans and the rights of all people. Congressman Cummings leaves an indelible mark on the lives of those he touched and he will be missed by the Cleveland community and all who knew him.”
