CLEVELAND – The City of Cleveland is ready for an exciting weekend in the Downtown area and is expecting an increase in visitors and motorists for upcoming end of summer events. The City of Cleveland and the Division of Police advises all who will be in the Downtown area for any of the festivities to be safe, if you see something say something, and enjoy yourself in Cleveland.

Public Square will host Oktoberfest Friday through Saturday from noon to 11:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lane restrictions will be in place around Public Square; therefore, the City of Cleveland encourages motorists to allow extra time for travel and plan ahead. All security for the Oktoberfest event will be provided by the Cleveland Division of Police and paid for by the event vendor.

All weekend long, the Cleveland Indians will host the Detroit Tigers at Progressive Field. Visit the Cleveland Indians website for game information. On Sunday, September 18th, the Cleveland Browns will play their first regular season home game against the Baltimore Ravens at 1:00 p.m. If you plan to tailgate before the game in the Municipal Lot, please read the rules and regulations.

Want to avoid traffic? The City of Cleveland encourages you to ride RTA to your destination. To reach any event downtown, park for free at designated locations, buy a $5 round-trip fare card or a $5.50 All-Day Pass, and ride any Rapid to the Tower City Station. An All-Day Pass is valid until 3 a.m. the next day. Plan all other trips at http://www.riderta.com/

Motorists are encouraged to download the OHGO app from the Ohio Department of Transportation to see real-time traffic speeds, hundreds of live traffic cameras, and travel delay times. Users can also set up custom traffic alerts.
